Happy shiny people.
{{Private Aoi&&Kenichi}}
Aoi sat on the bench, ice cream cone in hand, licking it every few seconds, her face as still as stone, her eyes glancing up at the people surrounding her. K e n i c h i. She was meeting him here, correct? Afterall, they were set up on a date, for whatever was going through the ash haired maiden's head. She certainly hoped he was a beautiful person, she may just walk away if he didn't interest her. Speaking of beautiful, today Aoi looked rather beautiful, even for her normal everyday outfits. Today she had on a fitted white dress, one of which her mother had bought her before they came to Tokyo, that fell short above her knees. And her hair was always perfectly groomed. With her blank stare, unfortunetly it made her look somewhat sad, but it seemed to almost add to her beauty. She didn't mind standing out by wearing the frilly French dress she was wearing now, she could care less what everyone else thought about her. The silent girl stood up, still awaiting her date. How was she supposed to know who he was? Tossing the remains of the cone, she waited in the corner or Tokyo square, searching for the one they called Kenichi.

Kenichi just coincidentally was walking down this street, amongst other busy city-goers, searching his surroundings for a girl named Aoi.
A lot of good a name got him.
His frown deepened, and he was just about to give up in finding her; he'd been at this for half an hour, noticing all of the mildly cute girls, hoping that one of the slightly-better-looking suspects was his date. He'd pretend not to notice an ugly girl, who looked like she was waiting on someone, and then walk to the cafe down the street to kill an hour or two.
Actually, he almost didn't come today. He wanted to pretend he'd never been invited on a date with a woman. A woman.

It was then that he noticed a white dress. It was fairly new on the fashion line in Paris. He rememberd his mom flipping through a portfolio with the designs on it a couple of months back. Obviously with her career in the fashion industry..

' Alright. I'll approach the white dress. I'll talk mildly with her. I'll be able to tell..'

He walked to her, and looked down at her with an inquiring expression, scrutanizing her for a flash of recognition or curiousity in her strangely hollow eyes.

" Hello." He greeted simply, looking her body over now. Yes. She met his standards look-wise, but he knew from experience in a recent otaku store, that appearances deceive.
He took a hand of his and brushed back some crimson hair that was falling infront of his eyes in a slim fringe. Then he straightened himself with a quick stiffening motion, smoothing out any wrinkles he might have in his slim-cut black jacket and faded jeans.
He was going for mildly casual, and seemed totally congruent to Aoi's french attire. They didn't match at all.

Differences.
Aoi stared at the boy for a moment, she had no doubt this was the boy named Kenichi. So he was a beautiful person. And he seemed bold enough, not shy at all when he approached her. Some boys would have just waited in fear the ash haired maiden wasn’t Aoi, and would become embarassed if she had said no. It certainly seemed he would catch her interest, but then she would have to catch his.

“Hello,” she greeted back, her grey eyes unwavering, “I suppose we’re supposed to do something now? Like go get something to eat. That’s what they typically do on a date, right?” She said, the truth being that Aoi had never gone on an actual ‘date’. With her lack of social skills she never seemed to actually ever get close to anyone. “I don’t care what we do, you can choose. We could just talk. But what’s really the fun in that?” The ash haired maiden looked at the boy, her eyes waiting yet her expression still. She was completely lost on this subject, she could easily talk to people, lure them in, but this was completely d i f f e r e n t.

He listened to her as she spoke; she wasn't a loud person, thank the heavens. He would've told her that he wanted to leave immedietly if she had been... well, not like she was.
Her beauty was strangely elegant. It wasn't cute, thus it didn't exactly suit his taste, but it was classy.

Only after looking her over for a moment, did he process her words.
"Honestly, I don't go on dates. But from books and TV, we're supposed to find something... something fun to do. I would usually ask: so what is it you like to do?' but it doesn't look like you have more clue of what to do than I do."
He scanned the area briefly.
" I'll get all of this out of the way: I like coffee shops and sudoku. Those are my hobbies and my 'likes'. So you don't have to ask." He began to walk in the direction of the shopping district, expecting her to follow.
" ..We'll follow your advice. You said people on dates get things to eat. You have a problem with McDonalds?" He threw the question over his shoulder, just loudly enough for her to hear, then paused to wait for an answer.

He looked at her again. Ash-colored hair, hollow eyes.
It was almost interesting just looking at her. --If all else failed, there was always that option. That was always fun... no matter what the circumstances were.

I mean, there wasn't anything wrong with th.. 'y'know what? I don't know why I keep mentally reffering to it as 'that'. It's sex. Sex. If nothing else, we have that. And frankly, I don't know if we can keep up a decent conversa...'
His eyes very attentively caught sight of a very thick book in the window of a store he was passing by, mid-thought. He could recognize the publishing company's name anywhere. It was the same company that produced the biggest volumes of sudoku available anywhere in japan.
" 2000+ Crazy Sudoku Puzzles!!" It bore proudly, one of the main display articles in the window of the usually very sophisticated book store.
Okay. So he didn't know how "crazy" sudoku could be, but 2000+! 2000+!

He stood very still, eyeing the book with a determined, hostile look on his face.
That had to be his.

Lost.

Aoi was glad she wasn't the only one new to this. And with him getting his like for Sudoku and coffee shops out of the way, Aoi was quick to think of how to respond. Simply enough, she stated out right, "I like cookies, other sweet foods and beautiful people." She hadn't really said that to much people before, but it's not like she was trying to hide it or anything. She followed along with him. McDonalds? Actually it sounded revolting, but rather than being rude to this new person Aoi simply nodded, if it came down to it she would have a milkshake or the contraptions they called 'McFlurries.' She wasn't as vain to act like McDonalds was a horrible place for a date, and get mad at this person Kenichi, Aoi wasn't like that. She would take any restaurant to eat at, and eat the food without complaining, it was more the thought that counted. She stopped, as Kenichi stopped and stared, seeming marveled by the Sudoku book in the window. Aoi pushed the door slightly open of the store and looked at him, "Well, by the look on your face I would say we should go buy that book first..."

Kenichi immedietly smoothed his expression into glazed boredom again.
" Look? I just thought it was odd for such a book to be on a display case. But," he looked coyly, debating for just a moment, at the book staring him down, and her willingness to enter, " Alright; We'll go. But just for a moment." he finally said, then flippantly walked in, hiding the intensity behind his idle, hazel eyes.
He went into the store, forgetting the chivalrous rule of allowing the lady to enter first in the adreniline rush of his fretful mind. His thoughts were heavy with the pounding urge for that book. But he made a gallant show of looking at books he'd never even heard of; anything was fine as long as it seemed like he was browsing.
He remembered touching the cover of a home-improvement-french-design book, a guide for the average "Halo 3" player, something about arts and crafts for the holidays, and a sports-magazine, all of which meant nothing to him, before he made his way to the display case.
He stopped before he arrived to look at some fuzzy animal keychain-like thing, like that was his original desire, grabbed it, then went straight for the sudoku book.

He flipped it open with passionate consideration, and then snapped it shut.
Yes. This one-- it had sudoku tables in the shape of other things-- not just squares! There were rounded ones, tables in the shape of frogs, the liberty bell of America, and not just a few of these---but 2000+!

He walked to the counter, where a plain faced girl with bobbed hair smiled at him considerately. She checked out his things, which were payed with by credit card, and lustily handed him the bag.
' How you manage to be lusty while bag-handing is a mystery, but this whore has got it down. She's not even pretty.' He thought, looking at her cynically.

" For you." He outstretched a hand toward "Aoi", in it, a small, sheep key chain.
He hadn't really thought about it when he grabbed it, because it was really just a cover up, but a gift was acceptable on a date, right? Even if it was handed to a girl in the most formal manner possible: his elbow bent neatly at his side, a polite but uninterested look on his face.

1 sheep, 2 sheep...

Aoi waited and watched, as she pretended to flip through a few books. It was f u n n y how the boy was clearly trying to cover up the fact that he wanted that book, badly. He even bothered to buy another item to cover it up more. And his expression had quickly changed when she pointed his face out. Aoi couldn’t help but find it funny. It was much to her surprise that he bought the sheep keychain just to give it to her, she took it, and she had decided already. The still faced maiden changed, and a small smile passed her lips with an escaping giggle; making Aoi seem almost a d o r a b l e. It was rare to make the girl really smile, sure she would put some on just for show or to lure people in, but this one was most definetly real. She flipped the chain around her finger, and with a happier tint in her voice asked, “So, now to this McDonalds, right?”

Kenichi glanced at his date with a slight tilt of his head; He scowled bitterly at the thought of McDonalds.
" I personally think processed food fried in grease and left to sit for hours in rat infested food establishments is disgusting. " He stared at her, hoping she'd agree with his change of mind and decide to find another place to eat out. Now that he had his book, his senses were returning to him. And even if she didn't agree with him, he still wouldn't go to McDonalds, he decided.
With a strange burst of impatience, He turned, not giving her the time to agree with him, because he began walking in the direction opposite of McDonalds almost immedietly.
" Let's walk around. Find something else to eat. I've never been to a cosplaying cafe before, but I hear they're entertaining. They'll have coffee, and sweets there, I'd think." He was eager for chilled pudding and strawberries, though he didn't show it, and looked back at her, searching for a reaction; he'd gotten a smile out of her. Maybe he'd see her angry, or disappointed, or pleased.

His impression of her so far was a little above decent. She had a nice face, and was fairly honest, as was he. She wasn't loud, and she would put up with any blatant comments he made. They'd get along.
If he was in any way straight, she'd be a possible candidate for his interest, but sadly enough, he wasn't. There was something about the soft curves of a woman that weren't as attractive as the slim, straight figure of a petite male. And he found that pleasing a male was so much easier than pleasing a female during intercourse; it felt better for him with a male, anyway.

" There's one in this direction." He gestured ahead of himself.

Escort me.

Aoi looked at the boy. He was charming, and underneath his indifferent appearance he seemed very kind. Yes, they could easily be friends. But, currently Aoi wasn’t looking for anything pass that with anyone. In fact, Aoi had never had a boyfriend nor girlfriend. She found both genders attractive, but she really didn’t care. A person is a person, with curves or no. Aoi had never even had her first kiss. The maiden, afraid to get close, was never open like most girls. She never wanted to be. And she was much too selfish, the way she wanted people, like dolls instead of humans. It was a wall she would e v e n t u a l l y get over, but it would be hard. She would probably need help with it, but until finding that person, Aoi would probably still be alone. ”I’ll go anywhere you want to go, I’m not picky. But a cosplay café does sound fun…” Her meek voice sounded, her grey eyes staring at Kenichi. She twirled a strand of her hair and looked away, thinking while walking beside him.

Kenichi was pacing softly down the grey sidewalk; the two of them probably looked like two wandering children in a stranger's eyes. Aimlessly walking about, confused or awkward looks on their faces as they waddled in and out of stores, both trying their best hand at dating, which was something neither of them were too experienced with.
But he took it in stride, the best he could.

" Yes, a cosplay cafe. " He repeated, scanning his surroundings idly.

As he walked, the thought of chilled pudding topped with a strawberry syrup and cream became his goal; his focus.
" So, girl. Out of mere curiousity: Are you straight, or gay?" suddenly popped from his mouth, and he glanced at her with a straight-forward glint in his eyes. There was no avoiding this question, because he didn't want to give her the wrong idea. Honestly, being on this date was more or less of a hastle. It was enjoyable, but he would have preferred meeting a cute boy here, and he needed to express that to this stranger.

( Sorry about the long ass wait. If you ever READ this EVER AGAIN. xD )

Barrier.

Aoi tilted her head toward the boy. It was a rather straight forward question for a stranger. She pondered it for a moment, it was a question that she was never even sure of. "Gender doesn't matter to me, I suppose. I guess it's true though that I have tended to like girls more. But, honestly, I don't share an interest in you. And it seems you don't share an interest for me, in that way." The ash haired maiden awaited the boy's reply. She was never one to lie, and she didn't enjoy being lied to. So when a question came, she would admit how she felt without too much hesitation.
